BSR LABS LTD builds software for specific use cases: education apps, data analysis tools, and applications where the requirements are narrow enough to be met properly rather than approximately.
Reps is the first product. It is a study app for iPhone, iPad and Mac that holds flashcards, class folders, a scheduler and a focus timer in one place.
Reps has no server. There is no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code collecting anything. Sync runs through the user's own iCloud account. The App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected, which is a statement about the architecture rather than a commitment about conduct.
That decision has costs, and they are visible throughout the product. There is no calendar import, no shared deck library and no collaboration, because all three would require infrastructure that would also hold user data. Those absences are the price of the position, and they are not accidental.
By people buying it. One purchase, no subscription, no in-app purchases, no free tier and no advertising. There is no investor and no growth target, which is why there is no pressure to add an account system.
